The information below is needed when you request and use the airport
pickup service provided by community members. Please have it at hand when making your request,
and TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU TRAVEL TO THE CENTER.
Request service AT LEAST 48 hours in advance
by phone call to the Gateway office, 843-272-5777, 9
a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, seven days a week. Or if making your
request by email (to email@example.com), AT
LEAST 72 hours in advance.
Provide the following information:
a. Name of airline.
b. Flight number.
c. City flight originates from, and last stopover location if not a direct flight.
d. Date and arrival time of the flight at Myrtle Beach International Airport.
e. Brief description of yourself (height, build, age,
hair color & length, and preferably including an article of clothing or carry-on item that distinguishes you from all others in the airport).
The basic $50 (paid directly to the driver, not to the
Center) provides for pickup at the airport, one stop
for groceries, registration at the Center Gateway office,
and bringing you to your cabin and kitchen. (For late night arrivals, grocery shopping and/or Gateway registration must wait for the following day.) Parking fees, when applicable, are extra, and fees for extended grocery stops, multiple stops, or prolonged pickups, are negotiated with your driver. Please
be aware that drivers will not be able to help with
Once you request the service, you are still responsible
for paying the driver, even if you later change your
mind and cancel your ride, since the driver has
already arranged his/her schedule to meet your request.
Exceptions: you promptly report to the
Gateway (843-272-5777) a delay or cancellation of your
flight, or cancellation of your Center retreat, or give
at least a 5 days notice of not needing the ride.
You must pay your scheduled driver $20 if you cancel
with less than 5 days notice ($35 if you neglected to cancel and the driver had to drive to the airport and back for a no-show).
The driver will meet you in the baggage claim section
of the airport. If you cant locate the driver,
call the Gateway (843-272-5777). The driver may need to
be paged or may have been delayed. If no driver is available
and you need to take a taxi, Meher Spiritual Center
is located at 10200 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572,
across from the Myrtle Beach Mall.
Requests to return to the airport ($35) are
not accepted until after you arrive at the Center, unless
you will be at the Center less than 48 hours. Driver assignments are determined by the volunteer ride service coordinator.
Bus Station Pickup
A ride can also be arranged from the Myrtle Beach Greyhound
bus station. The only differences from the airport information
above is that the cost is $47 and the information
you need to provide is:
a. Date and arrival time of the bus the Myrtle Beach Greyhound
b. Where bus is coming from.
c. Brief description of yourself (height, build, age,
hair color & length, and preferably including an article of clothing or carry-on item that distinguishes you from all others in the bus station).
