Jean Adriel: The Author of Avatar – A Presentation by John Page, Meeting Place

Jean Adriel was one of the earliest followers of Meher Baba in the West. She and her husband, Malcolm Schloss, owned the North Node bookstore in New York City, which in the late 1920s and early 1930s was a beacon for people interested in New Age thought, metaphysics and spirituality. Both Norina Matchabelli and Elizabeth Patterson used to frequent the bookstore and had a friendship with Jean. Later, when Jean and Malcolm brought Baba to the West in 1931 she invited them both to meet Baba and that was that! She is also the author of one of the first books about Meher Baba titled Avatar published in 1947.
John Page first met Jean in 1969 and soon developed an intimate friendship with her which lasted for several years. John will share intimate stories involving Jean and Meher Baba.
