“You Can Never Be Far Away from Me”
In this enlightening presentation, Charles Haynes and Christopher Wilson explore Meher Baba’s role in the life and art of Helen Dahm, the famous Swiss artist who painted the inside of Baba’s Samadhi. Beginning with a slideshow of Helen’s early paintings, their talk describes the events that led up to her meeting Meher Baba and her experience living in the women’s ashram, which was a pivotal time in her life. In 1934, Baba conveyed to her, “I am also a painter. I paint the hearts of people with the colors of spirituality.” While in the ashram, Helen felt depressed and isolated, so Baba directed her to paint the inside of His Samadhi and crypt, and she became very happy while working under His guidance.
