“I knew I’d come home”

Virginia Sadowsky met Meher Baba for the first time in 1956, with her nine-year-old daughter holding one hand and an injured bird in a cage in the other. In her bright, humorous, self-deprecating way, Virginia goes on to describe her time with her Master, including intimate tales—funny, touching, and sometimes painful—of Baba’s final days on the Center in 1958.

Take Baba with You!

This beautiful silent footage of Meher Baba, taken at the Meher Center in 1958, was shown to end the Holiday Sahavas. While some of you might have seen this before, we share it here again to re-experience His intimate Darshan at the Center.

The Meher Spiritual Center and Meher Baba’s New Life

Many remain unaware of the significant connections between the Meher Spiritual Center and Meher Baba’s New Life. During the New Life, Meher Baba sold nearly everything He owned and ceased communication with His lovers who were not joining Him on His journey of “hopelessness and helplessness.” However, the Meher Center was one of two properties that remained in His name during the New Life period, and He kept up correspondence with Elizabeth Patterson and Norina Matchabelli regarding their work on the Center throughout. In this video, Jamie and Zo Newell explore these and other deep connections between Meher Spiritual Center and Meher Baba’s New Life.

A Meher Center Tour for Bal Natu

In 2001, Marshall Hay, on behalf of the Meher Center, did a very intimate tour of the Center for a very unique purpose. This was a virtual tour especially for Bal Natu, one of Meher Baba’s Mandali who lived in Meherazad, India. Bal was one of the few Mandali members who had never been to the Center. By 2001 his health had declined significantly and it was clear that he would never come. This tour is a delightful visual treat for any onlooker, as Marshall directly addresses Bal with humor and respect, while taking him through the exquisite beauty of the Center, and fusing the experience with lesser known details of Baba’s visits.
