“I was looking for Baba everywhere”

Liz Sacalis met Baba in New York, Myrtle Beach and India. She was a seeker and often discussed her hunger to learn the meaning of life with her close friends Kesha and Henry Kashouty. She accompanied the Kashoutys to see Baba for the first time at Delmonico Hotel, NY in 1956. When Liz kissed Baba’s cheek, she felt that she was kissing everyone that she had ever loved. She felt a sense of light emanating from under His skin. Here she shares more on the subject of finding Him, meeting Him several times, living under His guidance and her own effort as a disciple.

“I felt weak with Love”

Virginia Rudd was an English teacher in New York and her husband Harold was a professional actor. They came to Baba in 1952. Virginia had been cynical of gurus and was skeptical of Baba before meeting him. In this entertaining video she recalls driving down to Myrtle Beach to see Baba and entering a trance-like state for hours. She felt a sense of delirious happiness. She goes on to share her life of love with the Beloved.

“He is in our lives and with us”

Rick Chapman met Meher Baba in 1965, and was one of three Western followers tasked by Baba to spread His message against drugs throughout the United States. For the 1995 Youth Sahavas, Rick was asked to give a presentation about Meher Baba in the 1960’s. This video of the presentation contains a description of a powerful phase of Baba’s life and work, and includes Rick’s own journey of learning about and loving Baba, then finally getting to meet Him.

“A light came on”

Lyn Ott met Meher Baba in 1965, and with Baba’s permission, spent decades living in a house built on Meher Center. Lyn was an artist whose paintings of Baba still hang at the Center today. “Always be conscious of His Presence”

K.K. Ramakrishnan was a lifelong disciple with intimate contact with the Beloved. Here he talks about his coming to Baba, seeing Him for the first time and recognizing Him as the Christ. Baba’s message to him was to be cheerful and spread His message. Inspired by that, Ramakrishnan started the Poona Center with Baba’s permission. Baba personally opened this Center and gave Darshan to thousands. This sharing of his life with Baba is full of simple reflections on how to love Him and continue to remember Him.

“Nothing matters but love for God”

Adele Wolkin was a philosophy student at Columbia when she and Filis Frederick met Elizabeth, Norina, and Nadine at their apartment in New York. In the three women’s presence, and their talk about Baba, Adele found something that she had been looking for but missing in her intellectual search for meaning. In this talk, she describes her developing relationship with Baba’s remarkable Western disciples, her breathless wait for Baba’s arrival, and her eventual meeting with Him at the Center in 1952.

“Love means obedience”

Bill LePage is an author, storyteller and a close Australian disciple of Meher Baba. He first met Meher Baba when he was chosen as one of the western men to attend the Three Incredible Weeks Darshan in India in 1954 and had close contact with Baba over the years. In this video, Bill recounts the story of Baba’s visit to Australia in 1958, interspersing profound details with gems of wisdom from his time around Baba and the Mandali.
