“Put your heart and soul into your anticipated meditation and observance of silence, and I am there there in you to help.”
In this talk given in the lead up to Silence Day in 1976, Rick Chapman speaks about creating a provisional ego and the challenges involved with truly surrendering one’s life to Baba every day. He looks at Silence Day as an opportunity to really focus on the work of “taking life lightly and God seriously.” About silence, he quotes Baba saying, “If you want to observe it, observe it thoroughly.”

Rano and the 10 Circles of Meher Baba
In this beautiful video, Rano Gayley, one of Meher Baba’s mandali, talks about her coming to Baba and the creation of the Ten Circles Chart.
Meher Baba guided Rano with every detail and at every step creating the fascinating and mysterious Ten Circles Chart. He even mixed the paint for the particular color orange that Baba is seated on at the top of the painting.
The chart represents the 10 circles of 120 persons who surround the Avatar in each advent. As for the various images surrounding the circles, we have no explanation. Baba asked Rano to ask any questions and He said the chart was for posterity.

“My father, no match for him in the whole world, which is why I was born to him.”
In this touching audio clip, Mani gives an intimate portrait of her and Baba’s father, Sheriar Moondegar Irani. As children they called him “Bobo” and from early age she was aware of his constant, silent repetition of God’s name as well as his seemingly magical gifts as a gardener. She also shares several instances that reflect how much Baba admired his father. At one point Baba even said, “My father, no match for him in the whole world, which is why I was born to him.”

“Baba was always looking for an opportunity to crack a joke…”
In this delightful talk, Charles Haynes shares stories about Meher Baba’s infinite sense of humor. From playful teasing of His close ones, to His delight in a good practical joke, to His thorough enjoyment in a funny story well-told, Baba loved to laugh, albeit silently. He especially liked it when people shared amusing things that had happened in their personal lives. Indeed, Baba made it clear that humor, for Him, was much more than joke: “What sustains me in my Universal suffering is bliss, plus my infinite sense of humor.”

“…Suffering is absolutely a necessity to go nearer to Baba, to understand Him more, to love Him more.”
With tender empathy, Arnavaz Dadachanji shares what it was like to watch Baba’s extraordinary suffering, especially during the last ten years of His life. Calling it “beyond one’s conception,” later she came to understand in a deeper way that He suffered for all of us – it was how He planted his “seed of love.” She then helps put individual suffering into perspective, counseling patience, repetition of Baba’s name, and complete reliance on Him. “He knows what is best for us.”
