Overnight Retreats

Each year the Meher Spiritual Center welcomes thousands of visitors who have an interest in learning more about the life and message of Avatar Meher Baba and experiencing the unique atmosphere here. Overnight retreats are specifically for visitors with a definite interest in Meher Baba.

Cabins

Accommodations at the Center are relatively simple and rustic, with no internet or television. Rooms are heated and have bathrooms, but are without air-conditioning. Several cabins have their own kitchens, but most guests prepare their meals in one of two well-equipped kitchens. Guests are responsible for providing their own food.

Cabin Assignment

Men and women who are not married are placed in separate lodgings. Cabins range in size from individual rooms accommodating one or more guests to cabins for families with children. Cabin assignment depends on a range of factors including the number of people in the party, arrival and departure dates, the special needs of guests, and availability. Sheets, pillows, blankets and towels are provided.

Group Retreat Policy

Meher Spiritual Center is a place of pilgrimage dedicated solely to Meher Baba’s cause and his life of love and service. Center policy is designed to provide every guest with a retreat experience of rest, meditation, and renewal of the spiritual life. Group members and group heads must be familiar with and abide by the following guidelines for groups staying at Meher Center.

Guidelines for Group Retreats and Activities:

  1. Meher Center is not available for rental by groups. Center guests may not be charged any fee beyond the standard Center fees. Any person assuming the role of coordinator or group head may not profit financially in any way from the group’s retreat visit.
  2. Each overnight guest is required to make his or her own reservation and vacancies cannot be held in advance of a reservation booking. Cabin and kitchen placements are made by Gateway staff on the sole criteria of best serving the overall needs of the Center.
  3. No closed workshops, discussion groups, or planned and scheduled group activities are to be held on Center. Spontaneous, informal group activities open to all guests are welcome when care is taken not to impinge on other guests’ retreat experience.
  4. No business, including sales or marketing of any kind, is to be conducted on the Center. No professional or healing services are to be rendered on the Center, except by administrative permission. Guests should not be working outside the Center during their retreat stays.
