“He was radiant like the sun”

Khosrow Namiranian was one of the last surviving Prem Ashram boys. He was also part of the Hazarat Babajan school created by Baba. Here, he recounts incidents of meditating with Baba, playing games with Him and kissing His feet at eight years old. He also shares his first meeting with Baba when he was in a line of boys to see Baba, because he was the shortest, he got to see His radiant form first. Finally, he answers questions about Baba’s impact on his life ever since and shares his prayers to Baba. Khosrow’s talk is translated from Persian, by his nephew, Farshid Namiranian.

“You took my breath away”

In this witty yet moving talk, long-time Center fixtures Ralph and Stella Hernandez recount the beginning of their lives with Baba. Having heard about Baba from a co-worker in Florida, they became interested in His teachings and decided to travel to meet Him when He came to Myrtle Beach in 1956. They met Him again on Center in 1958. Being near the Master struck a deep chord in both Stella and Ralph that would resonate for the rest of their lives.

“A place on which to stand and sing”

In this talk, Ross Keating focuses primarily on Francis Brabazon. Francis lived with Baba at Meherazad for many years, and Baba asked him to write poetry—including the epic work Stay with God. Baba once said that He was memorizing Francis’s poetry so that He would be able to quote it during His next Avataric advent. Ross shares Ghazals that Francis wrote and Baba loved. He also speaks to Francis’s artistic process, or as he puts it, “the Beloved playing with Francis.”

“His silence was never a barrier”

In part two of this audio, Bili Eaton shares the changes and challenges of her personal life and her next meeting with Baba. She met Him at Delmonica Hotel in 1956 and went to Myrtle Beach and California with Him. She narrates amusing incidents from that trip, being one of Margaret’s dancers at the Center in 1958, waiting around for the Master and making the best use of being in His company. Bili ends with reflections about the fight with ourselves to love Him more and more which really is the fight on the spiritual path.

“I learned that I’m sitting in front of God in Human Form”

In this talk, Ursula Reinhart narrates her epic journey to Baba: from smuggling illegal substances across the Middle East, to living in a fountain in Bombay, to getting lost in the Rajasthani desert. Finally, Ursula and her husband made their way to Baba’s feet for a five-minute interview in 1966. Despite her lack of interest in Him up until that point, Ursula found herself sobbing at the sight of God. From then on, her life was dedicated to Him.

“Everything He did was a miracle”

In part one of this audio, Bili Eaton shares her story of coming to Baba. She started out as an atheist who made a deal with God through prayer. When God indulged her, she became interested in spirituality which led her to Meher Baba. Even through great personal loss she had never cried, except when she met Meher Baba for the first time in 1952. Right then, she suspected that He was Christ come again.

“We are all reborn in His love” Talk by Charles Haynes & Wendy Connor

Sister and brother, Wendy Connor and Charles Haynes share their stories of meeting Baba at the East-West Gathering in India. Wendy shares a story to reflect the practice of inner cheerfulness. Charles interweaves the story of his mother Jane Haynes whose secret prayer to Baba was answered and became the touchstone for Jane’s life of love for Baba. They both answer questions about bringing Baba into daily life, asking for His help and grace.

“I feel closer to Him when I’m doing that work” Talk by Anna Lena Phillips Bell

Anna Lena Phillips Bell was raised in a Baba family in South Carolina and has been closely connected to the Center throughout her life, including volunteering at the Youth Sahavas and being a current a member of the Center board. This is a talk about what Anna Lena calls her “honeymoon” with Baba, the period as a teenager when she got a chance to live and volunteer at Meherabad and Meherazad. She also talks about her process of re-engaging in the West upon her return, including connecting with Baba through work and creativity.

“Baba’s way was not formulaic”

In this talk, Donald Mahler remembers his life with Baba. He starts by narrating the time when he heard about Meher Baba from a fellow dancer and went on to ask Margaret Craske (his dance teacher) about Him. Thus began his journey of observation of the unique disciple, Miss Craske, and meeting Baba first in New York, then in Myrtle Beach and finally in India. Later, Donald shares letters he received from Meher Baba and Margaret Craske. He ends the talk with reflections on his life with Baba.

“I daydreamed about meeting Jesus Christ”

In his trademark storytelling style, Tom Riley shares the story of his remarkable life with Baba. Details and nuances are not lost as Tom humorously weaves in incidents from his childhood and youth that led him to meet Baba. As a child, Tom was convinced that he would meet Jesus Christ in this life. In fact, that verbal conviction prevented him from being drafted in the Military!
